The interesting part in this chapter is that it gives ways for us to build good blog and getting income from it. The example given by Darren in one of his blog which is Digital-photography-school.com, tells about how this blog able to get an income. He managed to generate income for his blog from the advertisement by the company who involved with cameras and also from the sales of banner, product based advertising and textual advertising.

While in chapter 8, the authors discuss a topic called “Blog Promotion and Marketing”. In this chapter, Chris and Darren stressed the importance of marketing your blog. “A blog is not going to make you much money if nobody reads it”. This chapter will give you information on how to attract people reading your post and at the same time retain them as your regular readers.

In summary, I think that this book is worth to be read especially for those who have build their blog and have the basic knowledge in blogging. For those who are stranger to blog, you may find this book a bit confusing and advance to you. Try to learn the fundamental concepts about blog first in order to understand the book better.

My last post on niche marketing received a lot of response from my friends and also blog readers. They keep asking me more information about it.

Actually to be honest, it is not difficult to build a niche blog. The tough part is to search for the information or suitable topic as your niche.

It is good if you can get a right niche which have high search but less competitors. A blog with appropriate niche will definitely attract more attention from the readers.

 The first step which you must do in order to get an idea for your niche is to visit amazon.com, ebay.com or magazine.com.

I gain my own experience on niche market product when I was writing an eBook about how to start your own goat farming in local slang. This is a very good niche, as they were no competitors and at the same time Malaysian government is giving fully support to this business lately.

The eBook sales like hot cakes. That was the true experience to describe what niche market is in internet marketing. Other points when we talk about niche marketing is when we have to deep down or be more specific on the topic.

For instance when we talk about cars, don’t just mention it generally but be more specific by pointing out the type and accessories attached to it. You can explicitly indicate that you want to look at sports cars with high type audio accessories.

 How important it is that you choose a niche that has money in it!  I know that people are always saying “anything can be a niche”, and while that’s true, it doesn’t necessarily mean you will make a lot of money.

 Example, I spent a ton of time creating a really strong site, and now get hundreds of visitors a day.  But the bummer is that he don’t make as much money per visitor as he had hoped.

Because his niche contains people that aren’t exactly looking to spend money online.

Hopefully from the experience of my friends and myself, will give you some ideas what is niche marketing all about. For a start, do scratch your notepad and be creative in order to have your own niche product for your next blog or website.

Lately I’m quite busy with a project called 3M, ‘make more money’ project not supplying office equipment. I used to handle this project before and manage to enjoy some returns out of it but then along the way I quit…busy focusing on other things. At that point of time, I thought that the project will not give me great returns.

Learn from mistakes! Don’t be too excited thinking on the money. We need to start step by step. Change our mindset that is much more important. Once we change, we can be more focus until we succeed.

After failed on my clickbank project, I stopped for a while and concentrate to write a book with Shuth called “ Rahsia Blogger” which was published by True Wealth. You’ll be able to get the book at MPH and other bookstores, even in KLIA airport!

Subsequently after finishing my “Rahsia Blogger”, I later spot another project which is a bit out of IT word, agriculture. In 2007, I start my own goat farm after almost 5 months  of research. After my farm getting more stable day after day, I shifted back my focus to publishing my own e-book. This time around is about my own goat, “Rahsia Kambing”. It has been 4 months the book on sale and I manage to sell 30-40 books monthly. Not bad, don’t you think so?

Now I will concentrate back on my clickbank.com and google adwords program. It has been 2 weeks and the response not that good though! A bit disappointed but I will find the root cause to improve…

Remember what you need to do, give full heart to it and sacrifice…
